| Nowadays, with the deepening of globalization, there are more and more cultural exchange, academic seminar, professional training. Class interpreting plays an increasingly important role in enhancing mutual understanding, intercultural communication, knowledge sharing, technology exchange and friendship between China and other nations.Class interpreting features in interactivity, immediacy and professionalism.Communication strategies are widely applied in interpreting at present and an interpreter uses them to overcome difficulty in delivering information in a certain communicative activity, which is important to the quality of class and interpretation.Interpretation is a complicate communicative process and class interpreting is very essential during the process of imparting knowledge. However, the interpreter often encounter difficult situation because of failure in interpreting. Communication strategies can help the interpreter solve problems in communicative activity and largely reduce the pressure of interpreter so as to facilitate a smooth interpretation.This thesis probes into the application of four communication strategies during the class consecutive interpreting including paraphrasing strategy, non-verbal strategy,cooperative strategy and substitution strategy. It aims to help interpreter well adopt proper communication strategies in class interpreting and improve the interpreter’s competence in communicative activities to better serve interpreting practice in the future. |
