| Idioms are the crystallization of wisdom of the Chinese language and idioms are an important avenue in helping the spread of Chinese traditional culture. For foreign students, idioms have always been one of the most difficult aspects of the Chinese language to study, but currently there seems to be a lack of attention to teaching Chinese idioms as a foreign language and lack of effective teaching strategy in the practical teaching.Based on cross-cultural communication, culture linguistics and applied linguistics theories, practical experience of teaching Chinese idioms as a foreign language, explains and emphasizes the importance of teaching Chinese idioms, Using quantitative statistical analysis examines the writing situation in teaching Chinese idioms and foreign students’ Chinese idioms learning situation on tests. Questionnaires were used to study different stages of foreign students’Chinese idioms learning situation. These studies sum up the shortcoming in the shortcomings in the aspects of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and teaching materials. On this basis, this revealed potential areas for improvement for teaching foreigner’s Chinese textbooks and idioms teaching strategy.This passage is divided into five parts:The frist part is a summary, introduces the significance of idioms teaching, the academic achievements of previous studies, research objects and methods.The second part introduces idioms’definition, classification and pragmatic value, this essay analyzes Dalian University of Technology international students’experience of learning idioms which are present in their Chinese textbooks.Quantitative statistical analysis was used to introduce idiom’s number, frequency, interpretation and exercises that appears on textbook and points out that the defects of current Chinese textbook.The third part is foreign students’idioms learning research and analysis, divided into two parts, part one is to investigate international students’idioms error types and reasons for error in the exam, the other is to make an idiom questionnaire, testing subjects are middle and senior foreign students, to see the idioms acquisition condition of foreigners and realize the reason why Chinese idioms learners make mistakes.The fourth part is to explore the idiom teaching strategy under the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This includes a redacting of Chinese teaching materials and the Chinese proficiency vocabulary and grade outline of Chinese characters, as well as a compiled idiom dictionary for international students. This also discusses teacher’s idiom interpretation method, idiom learning effect test and so on, to discuss Chinese idioms teaching strategy for foreign students.The fifth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the main views of the teaching strategy while analyzing advantages and disadvantages. |
