With the more frequent communication in international trade, business contacts continue to increase, and many exchanges are no longer confined to conference rooms or press conferences. Instead, they are more likely to be conducted in the various forms of investigation and communication in tourism, and so on. Therefore, the demand of escort interpretation keeps increasing, which achieves a wider use in international communication.This paper is a practical interpreting report describing the application of various interpreting techniques and methods under the guidance of the skopos theory in solving problems in escort interpreting at Bifengxia. Based on the analysis of actual cases, several conclusions have been reached as follows:Pre-task preparation is of great importance, as sufficient preparation can ensure smoothness of interpretation, and help to provide better interpretation services to meet client’s demands. Interpreters should be aware of the demands of audiences, the issues they are more concerned about, and the kind of information they intend to obtain before interpreting. Thus, it is necessary to be familiar with audiences’ nationality, background information, working industry, etc.In addition, language proficiency and interpreting methods are indispensable, contributing to better achievements. Background information and task description are introduced in Chapter One. The pre-task preparation of this escort interpreting is specified in Chapter Two. In Chapter Three, the core of this paper, the Skopos Theory and interpreting techniques are combined to analyze some cases in escort interpreting. At last, the difficulties and solutions in escort interpreting are presented, with conclusions and recommendations for further improvement.
