The Grammaticalization And Lexicalization Of The Predicate-Object Structure"Rengjiu"

This subject makes the predicate-object structure of "Reng Jiu" as a starting point,integrated using of the combination of synchronic and diachronic,description and interpretation,research methods of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,supporting with the previous theoretical study of human,mainly studying the evolution of predicate-object structure of "Reng Jiu".Thesis mainly consists five chapters.The first chapter introduces the topic reason and research contents,research situation,significance and research methods and corpus sources.The second chapter discusses the lexicalization and grammaticalization of the predicate-object phrase of "Reng Jiu".In northern and southern dynasties,the predicate-object phrase " Reng Jiu " lexicalizated into a verb-object verb under motivation of the linear,rhythm,blocking,high-frequency using.Later,in the constructions " Reng Jiu VP",the referential meaning of "Jiu" continuous redundancy,weakening," Reng Jiu " ’s [+ repeatedly] semantic feature highlights,due to appear in adverbial position frequently,is re-analysised to the repetitive meaning of adverb in the Late Tang and Five Dynasties period.The third chapter discusses the lexicalization and grammaticalization of the predicate-object phrase of "Yi Jiu".The process is the same as the "Reng Jiu " in the macro is similar,the difference is still before fusion more than a faded preposition "Yu" and "Hu" process.The fourth chapter describes the Lexicalization and grammaticalization processes of the predicate-object phrase "Zhao Jiu" and "Zhao Yang" and "Zhao Chang"."Zhao Jiu " experience the similar transformation process with "Reng Jiu" and "Yi Jiu",namely: predicate-object phrase(Tang Dynasty),verb(the Ming and Qing Dynasties),adverb(in the Ming and Qing Dynasties).The predicate-object phrase "Zhao Jiu" in linkage structure lexicalizated as a verb(Yuan Ming Dynasty),then grammaticalized as an adverb(Qing Dynasty).Fusion in the Ming Dynasty,this time just was the "Zhao Jiu" maturity,on the grammaticalization of a certain extent by the Adverb "Zhao Jiu"."As usual" later "still",but because of its favorable conditions and promote the external trend,the beginning will dilute the phrase by two stage solution structure lexicalization as a verb(Ming Dynasty),and then as an adverb syntax(Ming Qing Dynasty).The fifth chapter is a summary.The predicate-object structure of "Reng Jiu" ’s source was "verb + object".The main evolution path: the predicate-object structure → verb → adverb."Reng Jiu" and "Yi Jiu" and "Zhao Jiu" appears for the first time,the main driving forces of appearing is the adjective "Jiu" metonymy extended."Zhao Chang" direct cause ofchanging is the function of analogy of similar structure.The direct reason to "Zhao Yang" is the modifiers "Yang" omitted.Two tone trend analogy and high frequency of use is the common reason for evolution.The mechanism of the predicate-object structure of "Reng Jiu" are mainly analogy,re-analysis and block.Through the Lexicalization and grammaticalization research of the predicate-object phrase "Reng Jiu",it is not difficult to find an invisible rules: having the same structure and similar adverbs may have similar or the same evolution.
