Confucianism is a cultural system and the main body of traditional Chinese thoughts,which originated in China more than 2500 years ago based on Confucian philosophy,and whose core value is the Confucian ethics.The formation of Confucianism proceeded deeply far-reaching impacts on China society and Chinese culture.As an important role in promoting cultural exchanges,Confucian culture spreads,develops and improves with its long-lasting vitality,and becomes an important part of the world civilization.In the long course of development,Chinese Confucian culture has been spreading out,and a lot of Confucian branches gradually formed in South Korea,Japan,Vietnam and Southeast Asia;Confucian culture has profoundly impacted many countries on politics,economy,culture and education all over the world,especially those in "Confucianism circle" area in East and Southeast Asia.Confucianism not only has been widely spreading,but also taking root in Southeast Asia,and becomes an important part of Southeast Asian culture.Therefore,the study of modern values of Confucianism in Southeast Asia will help us to understand the value of Confucianism in the culture field better,to diffuse it better,and to promote the cultural exchanges between China and Southeast Asia.Confucianism not only means high academic significance,but also has a high value in the field of culture studies.In this thesis,I’ve analyzed from the connotation of Confucian classics,and summed up their main points,focusing on the changes and development of Confucianism in Southeast Asia and the integration with local culture,to analyzed the influences of Confucianism on culture,education,ideology,and politics in Southeast Asia,to summarized and learned from the development and dissemination of Confucianism in Southeast Asia,and to promote greater progress and improvement of Confucianism.
