A Translation Report On Validation Master Plan From The Perspective Of Adaptation

With the deepening of economic globalization and rapid development of Chinese economy, more and more domestic products are sold overseas. With an increasing number of foreign inspection teams coming to China for quality certification, text translation has become one of indispensable communication tools. The translation task is to translate Validation Mater Plan, a scientific text, into English. The translation of scientific text requires faithfulness and accuracy. In order to produce on its target readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original, the translation should be adapted to the socio-cultural context of target readers on the basis of faithfulness. In addition, the words and sentence structure of target text should be in line with the language rule, conventional expression of target readers.Since the theory of adaptation is embodied with great inclusiveness and explanation power, the translation practice is completely under the guidance of the theory, together with the adoption of the translation techniques like addition, omission, shift, division, and combination. The content of this translation report is mainly divided into four chapters. The first chapter illustrates the background and significance of the translation task. The second chapter mainly describes the translation process from the preparation to the review of the translation, including the text analysis and the theoretical basis as well. The third chapter is the core part which demonstrates that under the guidance of adaptation, translation techniques as addition, omission, shift, division and combination can be used in scientific texts translation. Chapter four is the conclusion part, which summarizes what the translator learned in the process of translation and the edification being obtained.
