Tan Sitong is the widely known legend-style philosopher and thinker in the Chinese modern times. In order to construct his unique thought of the system of benevolence, he made combination of Chinese and Western learning. He used three categories of “aether”、“benevolence”、“mantel efforts” to define his mind. He utilized western word “aether” matching with the word “benevolence” to form his philosophy thought of “aether —benevolence—tong—equal”.His philosophy thought was mainly for the sake of his political thought. From his philosophy theory,that is “benevolence—tong—equa”, he put forward the slogan of “burst the snare”.There are nine snares in his book, including the snare of monarch and name.Owing to this, he criticized for the system of feudal monarchy and the feudal laws of academic fiercely.Tan Sitong’s social political thinking had a huge impact on the ideological circle.It had inspired the prominent revolutionary cause and opened the May 4th movement.
