Tragedy in modern society was once thought to have ceased to exist by some theorists, and Raymond Williams has seen society disorder is the tragedy of the resurrection of opportunity. He believes that the tragedy will change with the development of social forms have different variants, modern tragedy including tragic literature and daily tragic events that reflect the structure of feeling. This structure includes the negative resistance in the deadlock, the life consciousness in the sacrifice and the revolt in the absurd world. Williams’ theory of modern tragedy reveals the usual process of tragedy, the tragedy as a revolutionary outlook and outlook on life, the tragedy of research has become one of the cultural criticism of Williams way. In response, Williams believes that tragedy can not only meet the needs of social cognition and personal emotional catharsis, but also can cure trauma caused by to individuals and, thus for human being to find a way to freedom, equality in the future.
