| English learning motivation is a key factor that affects students’ English learning and it is also relevant to students’ success or failure of their English learning. But at present, senior high school students usually perform their negative motivation-behavior. For example, they have few interests in learning English and their learning initiatives are not optimistic. What reasons result in their negative motivation-behavior on earth? How to stimulate students’ English learning motivation? These problems bother a lot of teachers.On these issues, some scholars have studied before and they have achieved some results. But they failed to study human’s psychology and behavior from environment which people must be depended on and from people-environment this integrated system. They cannot naturally and ecologically to reappear students’ motivation-behavior status quo. Meanwhile, the vast majority studies in China usually regard college students as research subjects, little reference to senior high school English learners’ motivation. But there are huge differences between college students and senior high school students in knowledge background, living environment and social atmosphere.Therefore, in order to solve above problems, this study was mainly based on the multi-dimensional perspective. At the same time, it combined with the ecological psychology research methods. 240 students coming from Handan No.3 Middle School and Handan No.4 Middle School were selected as the research subjects. Questionnaire, interview and classroom observation were employed to do the research. The study results investigate the ecological construction of the motivation-behavior affecting factors of English learners in senior high school. Meanwhile, the author made an ecological analysis about these results. According to the research results, the author put forward some effective measures and strategies to improve senior high school students’ English learning motivation and cultivate their initiatives for learning English. It has great theoretical and practical significance on promoting senior high school students’ English learning. At the end of the thesis, some limitations of this study were summarized, and the future research directions were also discussed. |
