| In recent years, Xinjiang has attached importance to cultural exchanges with foreign countries in its development of cultural undertakings, which also exerts the influence on the economic and social development. Approved by the State Council and co-held by Ministry of Culture and People’s Government of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the Fourth China Xinjiang International Dance Festival represents the only international dance event in China. It is an exciting opportunity for the author to participate in the preparatory work of this festival serving as a liaison-escort interpreter during the internship in Xinjiang Cultural Bureau.Under the guidance of the Skopos Theory, the author analyzes the cases from practice. According to Skopos Theory, the most fundamental principle of translation and interpreting practices is to achieve the purpose of these activities, so different methods should be applied for realizing the purpose of translation. In that sense, based on specific environment and various needs of audiences, translators may adopt appropriate translation methods.Guided by the Skopos Theory, the report makes an analysis of examples from the interpreting practice by means of four kinds of translation methods including addition, omission, transliteration and adaptation. It also includes some fault cases and the corrective solutions. The cases are mainly from Tianchi visiting interpreting recording. And other cases are supplemented by some cases from interview, performance rehearsal. The aim of the report is to bring some experience and inspiration for future study and work. |
