A Diary of My Journey to the North(Bei Xing Ri Lu)by Lou Yue records his trip to Jin as a clerical staff of Minister Wang Dayou,his second maternal uncle in the 5th year of Qiandao(1169),which reflects the weather,distance,historic sites,folk customs and politic institutions during the mission from 10th month to 3rd month of the Chinese calendar,in particular the in the Mid-Capital of Jin(Beijing),diplomatic etiquette and people’s livelihood in the Central Plains,thus it is of highly historical value.Based on previous studies,the dissertation consists of two parts:Part One makes a textual research of the biography and family of Lou Yue and the editions of A Diary of My Journey to the North,an analysis on the background and process of the journey,an evaluation of significance and value of the book;Part Two emendates and annotates the full text of the book,in order to be convenient for follow-up studies.
