Analysis Of The Eco-socialism Theory Of Iwasa Mao

Environmental pollution has become a serious problem for the development of human society as the exacerbation of global ecological crisis,especially the frequent occurrence of environmental pollution in Japan,which generates discussions in different social sectors to seek approaches to this problem.Iwasa Mao,a famous environmental thinker and Marxist theoretician,has formed his own environmental theory on the basis of Marx’s views on environmental protection,combining his own practice with consideration on ecological problems of Japan.On the basis of Marx’s viewpoint towards nature and the theory of substance metabolism,with his own understandings of the Eco-ethic thought of いわさき ちかつぐ and the co-existence theory of お ぜ き し ゅ う じ,Iwasa Mao created and developed his Eco-socialism Theory.Initiating the harmonious co-existence of human and nature,he’s in support of view of nature focusing on humanity,and ecological ethics based on human society.According to his theories,environment pollution is mainly caused by economic activities of human.To deal with this problem,the first point is to realize the unification of economy and the environment.He put forward concepts of Capital Logic and the Logic of Life,insisted that only through the transformation of production and life style could human and nature realize harmonious co-existence,which means the transformation from the Capital Logic to the Logic of Life.Besides,through analysis of the real world,he revealed the anti-ecology essence of Capitalism,exploring approaches on solving environmental problems,which have been concluded as Eco-socialism.He called for breaking the logic of Capitalism,achieving logic of life based on the harmony between human and nature.In his view,to achieve this transformation the economic system for the logic of Capitalism need to be abolished,that is to overthrow capitalism and establish socialism.Compared with other western ecological Marxists’ theories,his more practical ideas bring significant enlightenment to ecological development of China.In general,Iwasa Mao’s Eco-socialism theory is unique and reasonable,which sticks up for and develops Marx’s ecological ideas,broadens the research perspective of Philosophy of Science and Technology.However,some of his thoughts deviate from theories of Marx’s.In his critical ideas of Capitalism,he lacks of practical methods to improve his thoughts of Eco-socialism Theory and criticize the compromise of Capitalism,which brings a certain limitations to his theory.Studying on Iwasa Mao’s Eco-socialism theory has made great theoretical and practical significance to the construction of ecological civilization in our country and inspired the works on environmental protection in China.The Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that "the construction of ecological civilization" is important,put forward the development concept of "five in one".It is the first time in China,establishing "beautiful China" as a magnificent goal in ecological construction.This article intends to systematically sort out and study on it and strengthen people’s concern and understanding of Iwasa Mao’s Eco-socialism theory in order to provide useful help to our country’s ecological civilization construction.
