On The Influences And Historical Inheritance Of The Critical Theory Of "Poetry Can Be Grouped"

As an important viewpoint of Chinese ancient literary theory,the critical theory of “Poetry Can be Grouped”,raised by Confucius and illustrated by scholars of past generations,has taken on a powerful theory tension and abundant cultural connotations.Apparently,branded by the times when social system and ideology changed a lot,historical inheritance of the theory,along with its status changes,has been greatly influenced by the upholding of discourse power by Confucians.Through historical and logical study of its theoretical implications,illustration of its historical context and its historical inheritance,analysis on its practice in virtue of certain literary forms,and sum-ups of its modern value,this paper is to reveal its abundant historical and cultural connotations,and illustrate its specific functions and theoretical significance in different historical periods.In literary activities,by means of “grouping”,creative subjects in literary responsory will smooth out their heart blocks,restrain their irritable emotions,and jump in their inspirations,while receptive subjects will reach cohesive forces,enjoy a harmonious coexistence with others and eventually a harmonious society,thus,an integral literature process,from creation to reception,is formed.Studies on the theory will also contribute to further understandings of traditional Chinese culture,modern transformation of Chinese classical literary theory and the complex relationship between Chinese ancient culture and literary theories.Aesthetic education based on this theory can be utilized in constructing gentlemen’s personality and values in which kindness and beauty are both adored,and casting national solidarity as a power of culture,when today’s socialist culture with Chinese characteristics is further deepened.
