| As the first of the Four Great Masterpieces of the Ming Dynasty,Jin Ping Mei,which fully demonstrated oral outlook of the late Ming Dynasty,has great significance in linguistics of the times.In this paper,we study the adjective reduplication of Jin Ping Mei.We analyze the form of structures,syntactic functions and grammatical meaning of adjective reduplication.The whole paper can be divided into four parts.In the first chapter,we mainly talk about the origin and significance of Jin Ping Mei,the current research of this book,as well as the demarcation of the adjective reduplication.In the second chapter,we analyze the form characteristic of a variety of adjective reduplication forms in Jin Ping Mei.Generally speaking,the adjective reduplication in the book is very active.This has been very closed to the modern Chinese adjective reduplication in the format.After exhaustive analysis,we found that the adjective reduplications can be divided into 4 parts,including A A type,AABB type,ABB type and A li AB type,and each part also divides into certain minor sorts according to their characteristics.The third chapter analyses the syntactic functions of the adjective reduplication in Jin Ping Mei.From our research,the adjective reduplication mainly serve as adverbial,attributive and predicate;secondly,they can also serve as a complement,object,parenthesis;even a small amount of overlap also can be clauses of the sentence.In this part,we carried out a variety of analysis described in detail.In the forth chapter we talk about the grammar-style meaning of the adjective reduplication in Jin Ping Mei.According to previous research and works,we believe that the grammar meaning of adjective reduplication in this book mainly in three:the first one is quantitative characteristics,the second one is status,last one is subjective assessment.In this paper we pointed out that the quantitative characteristics is the main grammatical meaning.As the conclusion of the paper,we sum up the whole article.Meanwhile,the paper states explicitly that there are still many inadequacies in this article and many aspects to be studied further. |
