The Study Of The Origin Of Chinese Adversatives

The research achievements of the Chinese adversative conjunctions and adversative compound sentences are very rich.the study no matter on a whole or individual cases,synchronic or diachronic,contrast or compare,the predecessors have done a lot.However,on the whole,the previous researches mainly focus on one aspect.Till now,as to the origins of the Chinese adversative way of expression,no one had tried to study entirely.So,based on grammaticalization,this paper study overall the origins and development of the Chinese adversatives.Chapter two to seven is the theme part.We will comprehensive study the origin and evolution of seventies adversatives in every periods.According to the differences of the origin of semantics,there are five main evolution paths : the semantics of unexpected,emphasis,continuation,exception and reverse direction.In addition,there also are “而” from parallel semantics,“且”from climactic semantics.The last is the part of the conclusion.It will summarize the discussion of this paper and point out the problems which we need to further research in the future.
