Zuoshe belief is an ancient folk belief which spreading in Pinghu,Zhejiang province and other places include the north area of Zhejiang province and Shanghai suburbs.It is still maintaining a vibrant vitality nowadays and the cultural origins can be traced back to the ancient worship of She-Gods.From the evolution of historical form,Zuoshe belief came from the official sacrificial ritual to the god of the soil.Then through the amalgamation of regional society and folk belief,eventually became a kind of folk form.In the traditional society of China,the combination of folk belief and regional society is not uncommon.However,Zuoshe is unique not only in the regard of ideological dimension of folk beliefs,but also integrate into the social life actively,in order to create a practical function.This effect is particularly prominent in the protection of traditional culture,maintaining social stability in the region,dealing with interpersonal relationships,etc.Especially for the people,the traditional custom Jie-she makes people unrelated like families.This situation conveys a strong sense of belonging.After entering the modern society,Zuoshe just like most of folk beliefs experienced changes in the social system,the impact of modern life and many other tests.Fortunately,it is always part of the local social life.In 2011,Zuoshe belief in Pinghu was selected in Zhejiang province intangible cultural heritage protection list.It means this ancient folk has been recognized by the value of historical heritage in the new period.On the other hand,it's also a meaningful job that how to combine Zuoshe with intangible cultural heritage policy,and how to combine it with the dynamic process of urbanization,scientific and technological revolution.It is the most practical thing,if we can find out its modern value and the way of future development.
