| In this paper, the author investigated 50 Chinese students and 40 international students from Indonesia and Philippines to discuss the overall use of Chinese learning strategies used by students of Indonesia and Philippines, through the way of questionnaire and interview based on the study of language learning strategies of domestic and overseas, and further to explore the difference of learning strategies used by students of Indonesia and Philippines with different language backgrounds, gender, Chinese level, age. In this paper, the author used SPSS 18.0 software and Microsoft Excel software to analyze the questionnaire data.According to the survey:(1) Compared with Chinese students, the students of Indonesia and Philippines used social strategies most commonly, followed by compensation strategies, metacognitive strategies and cognitive strategies, memory strategies and affective strategies is the least-used, but the order of Chinese students’ strategies is that:compensation strategies> metacognitive strategies> social strategies> cognitive strategies> affective strategies. (2) The discovery within the students of Indonesia and Philippines interior group comparison is that:The choice of students from different language backgrounds have significant differences in metacognitive strategies, affective strategies and social strategies. The native speakers as Filipino students is far higher than that of native speakers as Indonesian students on usage frequency of learning strategies; Different gender had no significant effect on students’ Chinese learning strategies choice, but the men is generally higher than women on the mean value of learning strategies; Different language level students have significant different choice of meta-cognitive strategies and affective strategies, the frequency of utilization is lower with the improvement of language level; The students from different age paragraph have different significant choice of metacognitive strategies, affective strategies and social strategies, the students belong 15 to 20 years old is quite high than the students belong 21-25 on the frequency of strategies use. Using literature analysis method and interview method to do further analysis, probing into the cause of the differences, and trying to research on the learning strategies on teaching Chinese as a foreign language and putting forward suggestions and prospects. |
