Women’s Subjective Well-being And Its Influencing Factors Analysis

Subjective well-being, as a multidimensional system of social indicators, has risen in recent years, which can be not only used for assessing and predicting social phenomena but also reflecting the condition of the individual’s life experience comprehensively. This study is mainly to investigate the subjective well-being of female, which is as a special group in society. On this basis, this study is also to investigate the factors which influence the subjective well-being of female who are from different social class.This study adopts Chinese residents of subjective happiness scale, hope trait scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire, perceived social support scale, covering 494 females from all levels of various kinds of professional in the sample in Hunan Province. Whose average age was 39.6 years old, the average annual income is 31229.8 yuan, including 329 married females,130 unmarried females,24 divorced females,11 widowed females, including 276 females from city,151 females from town,151 females from village, and including 260 females from the nuclear family.This study is to explore the subjective well-being of females, and the conclusions are as follows:1. Females’subjective well-being is at a relatively high level.2. There is a significant difference between the demographic variables and family structure variables on females’subjective well-being. Females’subjective well-being from the core family is at the highest level while Females’subjective well-being from DINK family is at the lowest level.3. There exists significant differences among the age, marriage and family structure of the three variables of the social support for female. The highest level of the social support for female lies the age over 60 while the lowest level lies the age between 16 to 30. The social support for married females is significantly higher than that the divorced. Females from the core family hold the highest level of the social support while females from the single parent family holds the lowest level of the social support4. There exists a significant difference on education and income of the demographic variables on the level of female’s hope. Master degree or higher level of education background holds the highest level, primary school education or lower level of education background holds the lowest level. Female who earns 100,000 or more than it per year holds the highest level, while female who earns 5,000 or less than it per year holds the lowest level.5. There exists a significant difference on education and income of the demographic variables on female active coping style score. Master degree or higher level of education background holds the highest score on female active coping style score. Primary school education or lower level of education background holds the lowest score on female active coping style score. Female who earns between 50,000 and 100,000 per year holds the highest score, while female who earns between 20,000 and 50,000 per year holds the lowest score.6. There exists a significant difference on subjective well-being of different social class female. Happiness index is ranked from high to low:individual businesses, private entrepreneur, industrial workers, manager section, rural and urban unemployed, unemployed, underemployed workers, business class service workers, professional and technical personnel sectors, agricultural laborers, national and social strata managers, clerical hierarchy.7. This study aims to establish the model of the influence factors of happiness, which includes the factors of the subjective well-being level, hope and positive response characteristics.
