In 2014 and 2015, Archaeologists had excavated the Zhaimaoliang site, which is located at Fangya village, Yulin city. Zhaimaoliang site is one of the important prehistoric sites in northern Shaanxi. It is also the best preserved and the most complete settlement site in northern Shaanxi, which contains the remains date back to the Late Longshan period. By studying the single buildings distribution and the pottery group within the site, they can be divided successive 2 periods. By studying in settlement archaeology, environmental archaeology for the site, the systems analysis adds to the remains date back to the Late Longshan period in northern Shaanxi.By analyzing the cultural features of other sites date back to the same period around Shaanxi and inner Mongolia, northern Shanxi, the author summarized the cultural features of northern Shaanxi and drew some conclusions which are based on the comparison study:the Zhaimaoliang site remains are similar to the Shimao site and Shiluoluoshan site; but the characteristics of Zhaimaoliang site remains are different to Laohushan site in inner Mongolia and Xinghua phase V in northern Shanxi. In a ward, there is close communication between those cultures.
