A Study On The Remains Of The Shang Town Ruins In The Period Of Baijiazhuang

The Shang town ruins in Zhengzhou is one of the most important archaeological discoveries,which was discovered in the 1950 s.Over the years,Scholars had a heated debate about the time,the nature,the usable time of the ancient city.Since The site of baijiazhuang was discovered,researchers were highly controversial about the feature,connotation of this site.And then,whether to keep it or not.The article base on the predecessors' research,combined with the lastest archaeological materials,have a system study on the distribution,cultural characteristic,the phase division,attribute and functional areas of the Site of baijiazhuang in the historical city,then,we further explored the question about whether the Shang town in Zhengzhou was the political center or capital in Baijiazhuang coal period or not.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction.Firstly,we comb and explain the origin of baijiazhuang coal period of the Shang town in ruins in Zhengzhou.Secondly,based on the definition of related,we further analysis the present situation of this research and put forward open question need to explore.In the end,we introduce the method we study,purpose,and meaning of this study.The second part is the discovery and distribution of baijazhuang coal remains.On the one hand,we affirm the existence of the sites of Baijiazhuang coal period in the city.On the other hand,we summarize the distribution of these sites,and then,consider the sites as abundant and widespread.The third part is cultural characteristic and phase division.We think that ruins consist of construction,ash pits,tombs,ancient bronze aged pits,ruins of handicraft workshops,ect.According to the purpose way,they can be divided into production tools,weanpons articles for daily use and something else.The site of baijiazhuang coal period can be divided into three groups.The feature of pottery and bronze in each group is different,but they come down in one continuous line.The fourth part is properties and functional partition.We demonstrate the high standard of the remains,which was used by the king or nobilities of ShangDynasty,by analyzing the properties of remains.In addition,there are functional partition in mall.Such as the palace residential area in the northeast of the inner city,the area of sacrifice outside of the inner city,the tomb,civilian residential area,handicraft workshop area between the inner city and the outer city.The fifth part is conclusion.We summarize the results of previous part and affirm that the partial moribund phenomena of the Shang town ruins in Zhengzhou,but not abandoned,still as the political center.
