| College Students are the future of the country,their mental health problems have always been concerned about.College students’ life style is very representative of the times,not only indicates the next period of people’s material and spirit state,but also has an important impact on their mental health.The aim of the current study was to explore the impact of college students’lifestyles on mental health.A scale study was conducted to carry out a three-year follow-up survey of 1409 college students between 2013 and 2015.Every other year,using the scales to measure their lifestyle and mental health.Lifestyle had five observation variables,including:physical rhythm,social rhythm,exercise,drinking,smoking.And mental health was measured in two ways,including positive mental health and negative mental health.Conclusion:(1)Both positive mental health and negative mental health has a downward trend over time.And negative mental health declines faster.(2)The predictive model of positive mental health includes three positive predictors:physical rhythm,social rhythm and exercise.The model can explain 25.59%of the positive mental health variability among individuals.(3)The predictive model of negative mental health model includes three positive predictors:physical rhythm,social rhythm,exercise,and one negative predictor:smoking.The model explains 57.85%of the negative mental health variability among individuals.(4)Physical health plays a complete mediation role in the impact of lifestyle on mental health,and explains 76.50%of the impact.In summary,this follow-up survey explored the influence mechanism of college students’ life style on mental health,which has important theoretical implications.Besides,the results of the present study also provide practical guidance regarding mental health education in colleges and universities:the education of positive mental health should be strengthened,students should be guided to follow the regular life rhythm and exercise,reducing smoking behavior and improving physical health,so as to better promote the mental health of college students. |
