Zhang Jiucheng's Assimilation From Buddhist In His Theory Of Mind And Nature

Neo Confucianism originated from “the three scholars in the early Song Dynasty” and be perfect by “the five philosophers in Northern Song Dynasty”.It was diffused to “the South” during the time of “the four scholars from Cheng brothers”.Zhang Jiucheng,with a courtesy name“Hengpu”,is the study object of this paper.He studied after Yang Shi,who is the heir of “the school of Luo”,at his thirties.“The school of Luo” advocates the theory of “Tian li(The Course of Nature)”,so as the second generation heir of this school,Hengpu has inherited some of the theory of “Tian li” but to some extent also deviates from it.At the beginning of “the school of Luo”,Cheng brothers had already disposed a different disposition.Mr.Hangpu came near the lineage of the elder Cheng,and thus he is partial to the function of“the mind”.Besides,between the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty,a pioneering spirit is needed culturally,politically and militantly.However,the theory of “Tian li” has limited people's mind to a great extent,and causes “intellectual giant,a dwarf in action'.So,in his“Zhuangyuan Ce”,he emphasizes the function of the mind,namely the spirit,which is also a demand of the era.Hengpu is eager to learn from his childhood and is profound in knowledge.He lives in Qian Tang,which enjoys a reputation of “Buddhist Country in Jiangnan”.Therefore,he usually keeps company with Buddhist monks and thus is familiar with Buddhist teaching.Besides,he also keeps in touch with Master Zongao,the representative of “Seeing Word Zen”,so the Buddhist teaching has greatly influenced Hengqu during his whole life.Based on The Complete Works of Zhang Jiucheng,this paper carries out a deep study on the mind-nature theory of Hengpu with a methodology combined by philosophy,historical science and Buddhist study.This paper contains four chapters.Chapter one “Introduction” introduces the selection of this topic and literature review.The learning of the first chapter mainly interprets the track of his thought life,and the principle of abiding by the entry into WTO of Zhang jiucheng is the concern of his Confucian standpoint.The second chapter embarks from the theory of Mr transverse's heart,he elevates the heart to the status of noumenon,alsocan see its to Huineng root heart and the Buddhist theory of absorption.The third chapter analyzes the inherent relationship of the three aspects of benevolence,sensation and heart from the perspective of sex theory,and finally embodies the heart and sex with the mind one yuan,so as to highlight the trace of Buddhism " awareness" in its thought.
