Research Of The Prompt Words Revision In The Modern Chinese Dictionary

The explanatory prompt words belong to the meta-language system,proper use of the prompt words in the dictionary can explain the meaning of convergence structure,suggesting the meaning of words,to strengthen the interpretation and so on.On the basis of the important role of its interpretation,the prompt words have always been the object of the dictionary compilers and researchers.But the number of prompt words is large and diverse,coupled with the diversity of dictionary compilers and academic literacy.In the compilation of dictionaries,it is inevitable that the function of the same prompt word is too diverse,the number of variants of the same prompt word is too much,or the misuse of the word is used,so that the word is the important content of the dictionary revision.This paper makes a comprehensive study on the revision of the 6th edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary by means of comparative analysis,data statistics and descriptive analysis.Five categories of prompt words were selected as the object of study,and the five categories of prompt words were selected as metaphor,description,refer to,allegation and indication.Extracts the same headings using the same prompt word in version 5 and version 6,combined with the overall description of meaning to summarize the function of prompt words,then the corpus is randomly selected to examine whether the revision of the 6th edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary prompt words is in line with the norms.We found out that "Modern Chinese Dictionary" interpretation of the sixth edition five tips term revision involving a total of 1556 words(counted as multiple entries in the same time there are many words revision),which "metaphor" prompt words revised up to class involving 803,accounting for 51.7% of the total revision;followed by "refer to" type,involving a total of 493,accounting for 31.6% of the total revision;"description" type of amendments involving a total of 115 word entry,accounting for the total amount of 7.4 %;"allegation " type of amendments involving a total of 122 word entry,accounting for 7.8% of the total;"indication" type of amendments least,involving a total of 23 word entry,accounting for 1.5% of the total.Specific data can be seen by the "metaphor","description","refer to"," allegation " words are four types of prompts revised focus,increase,delete andmodify the prompt words revised three general body types,change tips words largest proportion.Amendment headword number,revision is more complex,it is reflected in the "Modern Chinese Dictionary" 5th edition of the Interpretation tips term use of non-standard deep problems.The article mainly studies the function and the revision situation of the explanatory prompt words of the 6th edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary.Among them,the revision research is the main content of this article,and functional Research as a theoretical basis for service and revision studies.The 1st chapter is the summary of explanatory prompt words,this part analyzes the source of the auxiliary words,and sums up the different names,as a supplement to the interpretation of the background information prompts.This paper summarizes the existential forms of the five categories of explanatory prompts in the 6th edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary,and finally summarize the features and principles of the use of prompt words.Form the 2nd chapter to the 6th chapter,five categories of cue words "metaphor","description","refer to","allegation" and "indication" were studied respectively.First of all,I explore the explanatory functions of the explanatory words: "metaphor" specifically used to suggest metaphorical meaning of words,The metaphorical meaning,the metaphorical usage,the analogy and the coinage of the words which are easy to be confused when they are interpreted;"description" is mainly used to explain the adjective,when used to explain the non-adjective adjective given the word class color,there are two main functions of depicting characters and imitating sound."refer to" means that words that are interpreted with "refer to" generally contain a range of features,and the actual meaning is slightly narrower than the literal meaning,"refer to" contact reality and language,there are many forms in the word with different functions;The term "allegation" is also used to explain nouns and noun phrases,it used to explain the concept of meaning,relationship,scope and subsidiary colors;"indication" has simple form but complex functions,it can be a variety of word class interpretation,and it has the function of explaining the deep meaning of the real word,explaining the function word and the meaning of the fixed structure.Then,under the condition of clarifying the function of various prompt words,this article exhaustively examines the 6th edition of theModern Chinese Dictionary to add,delete and modify the version 5 version of the prompt words in the situation,The study on the revision of the "refer to" and "allegation" in the five categories of explanatory prompts is more detailed,in addition to research into the other four categories suggested words,but also on the two types of internal revisions were investigated.Finally,in the course of revising the whole research of the categorization of the six hieroglyphics,we find out the reasonableness and unreasonableness of the revision and find the problems in the revision.The 7th chapter analyzes the subjective and objective reasons for the amendment of the6 th edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary,and puts forward my own views on the problems existing in the interpretation of the sixth edition and the prompt words,That is,the interpretation of the meaning of the word when the interpretation of the function should be a single word,the relevant terms should be unified interpretation,the case should be added to explain the use of prompt words.Generally speaking,the revision of the 6th edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary prompt word is very successful,but there are also some shortcomings.This paper summarizes the successful experience of the revision,and finds the shortcomings and analyzes the reasons,then puts forward some reasonable suggestions with reference to their theoretical knowledge and practice.It provides reference for the follow-up revision and normative work of the Chinese dictionary.
