The Thought Of Reclusion Reflected In The Landscape Painting In Yuan Dynasty

It is the most important period for the development of landscape painting during yuan dynasty.Comparing to the naturalism before Song Dynasty their painting style pays more attention to personal state of mind and life experience which has a distinct individual ink schema.In order to pursue the life of a hermit,literati run away from the official career.They prefer to achieving their life belonging and personality ideal through their poetry and the landscape.Those hermits include poets,writers and painters.They are all around together discussing poetry and painting,especially the landscape paintings which reaches its peak period in Yuan dynasty.This paper tries to analyze the relationship between the landscape painting of Yuan dynasty and the thought of reclusion from the perspective of epistemology.In the introduction it will discuss the origin of reclusive culture and landscape paintings,as well as the political and cultural background of Yuan dynasty and the generalization of literati becoming hermits.In part one,it will state the change of Chinese traditional reclusive culture and thought of reclusion.At the same time,the hermitic culture and content of past dynasties hermit thought are also interpreted here.In part two,it will analyze the reclusive characteristics which is reflected in the landscape paintings of Yuan dynasty from the perspective of reclusive features of the landscape paintings,personality presented in it and also the artistic taste for tranquility and desolateness in the landscape painting of Yuan dynasty.In part three,through the interpretation of landscape painters in Yuan dynasty and their works,it will discuss the expressive style of the reclusive features of the landscape paintings in Yuan dynasty.In part four,it will state the influence that the thought of hermit containing in the Yuan dynasty landscape painting has on the future development of landscape painting.Finally,it comes to the conclusion that the thought of hermit has a far-reaching influence on the development of Yuan dynasty landscape painting with its pioneering significance.
