A Research On The Process Management Of Translation Project:The Original Operating Manual-heat-shrink Appliance

Nowadays,the rapid development of technology is contributing to more and more cooperation between Chinese companies and their foreign counterparts,through which China is bringing back both advanced technologies and equipment.In this process,translation of scientific and technical texts plays an irreplaceable role.If scientific and technical texts,characterized with professional knowledge,will be translated within a short period,the project management becomes the key to finishing the translation tasks on time.During internship,the author once participated in a translation project called “The Original Operating Manual-Heat-Shrink Appliance”.Based on this translation project management,the report mainly illustrates the three stages of translation project management,namely,the preparatory stage before translation,the project management stage during translation,and the processing stage after translation.In addition,this report lists the problems during the project management and the corresponding solutions as well.The report also analyzes such issues as how to control cost,guarantee quality and store language assets,and common solutions for all of which are offered as well.Accordingly,the report optimizes the original project procedures and concludes a procedure that suits the translation of scientific and technical texts the best.This report is aimed to summarize the characteristics of project management in translating science and technology text by studying the translation project management,and offer useful experience to the project management of a similar text.
