Dating violence refer to violence happened in dating relationships, including physical violence, psychological violence and sexual violence. There are two experiments to study the factors that effect dating violence The first experiment examined the two variables which are self-control and negative mood change that may lead to dating violence perpetration, including reactive violence and retaliatory among a sample of 30 heterosexual couples(total n=60),within the framework of Finkel‘s I~3 model. The second experiment examined the two variables which are response situations and bystander situations that may lead to the decrease of dating violence perpetration among 82 college studentsResults:(1)compared with boys, girls perpetrate more reactive and retaliatory violence,in others words, boys perpetrate more mild violence than girls.(2)couples perpetrate more retaliatory violence than reactive violence(3)negative mood change in conflict effect boys' and girls' reactive and retaliatory violence.(4)self-control do not effect boys' girls' reactive and retaliatory violence.(5)among dating violence,self-control and negative mood change do not reveal interaction effects.(6)there are no bystander situations and response situations interaction effects among boys, among girls, when there are bystanders around, they tend to decrease the violence if they response immediately;in contrast, when there is no bystanders around, they tend to decrease the violence if they delay to response.Conclusion:(1)the first experiment does not provide support for the Finkel's I~3 model(2)negative mood change in conflict effect boys' and girls' reactive and retaliatory violence.(3)among girls, when there are bystanders around, they tend to decrease the violence if they response immediately;in contrast, when there is no bystanders around, they tend to decrease the violence if they delay to response.
