A Study On Natural Ecological Posters From The Aspect Of Enviornmental Psychology

Ecological environments have been accompanied human being ever since the very first day of its existence.The beautiful picturesque surroundings offer human being material things as well as the shelters.Meanwhile,some natural disasters bring destructions to human beings.Posters,the very traditional information carriers,seem to be ignored in the ocean of the modern media techniques.However,new media offer a fresh aisle for its spreading.Its function on psychological therapy deserves a second thought and study.The focuses of this thesis come as the following:First,to catalogue and analyze the posters containing human emotions;Second,to decode the visual impact of the environmental posters by analyzing the elements of poster(words,pictures,colors,structure and so on)from the ecological psychology;Third,to remind the readers of the posters the importance of living in harmony with nature through the interpretation of the posters.Environmental psychology is an interdisciplinary science in modern psychology.It aims to study the interaction between human psychological activities and the changing of its living surroundings.There are certainly some connections between some factors in the natural environment such as sounds,winds,temperature,climate,air pollutions and so on.Some other elements in the society affect human emotion,too.Human need adapt himself to various situations.Environmental psychology explores the influences that human being imposed on nature.Such exploration might help people love and protect nature.As human emotion can be affected by the outside surroundings,the study of environmental psychology shares the aims with the expression of natural ecological posters.Natural ecological posters are windows for human beings to know of nature.Picturesque beauty is the copy of the world.Chinese people have had the tradition to decorate their houses or rooms with beautiful pictures.Such settings make people relaxed.It also coincides with the natural therapy posters.Human science and modern technology have promoted the development of the society.Meanwhile,they have brought along some negative effects on nature and social environment.The incorrect rate of reproduction brought the world population explosion and over-consuming led to environmental deterioration.All those problems are caused by human beings’ short-view acts.The modern industrial revolution gives people an illusion that human beings can control or conquer the nature.In another word,people have the wrong idea that they can do anything with the modern science.A series of crisis and disasters on politics,economy as well as ecology show that the modern science is not the panacea for every problem.Those crisis and disasters are not by chance the main subjects for the eco-psychological posters.The present society is confront with many crisis,such as population explosion,resource exhausted,ecological destroy,and environmental pollution as well.The rapid growth of the population makes the world denser and denser.Landing earth destroyed is one of the resource problems.Soil erosion,land degradation,desertification and the loss of biodiversity are indicates of ecological crisis.Environmental pollution can be seen in the global warming,air pollution,ozone destruction,acid rain,poison chemical pollution,ocean pollution and so on.Nature has been a pressing issue for human beings.
