A Report On The Translation Of 3D Printing:Legal,Philosophical And Economic Dimensions (Chapter 11)

3D printing technology has been grabbing more attention for the past few years for its entrance to the fields of aerospace,medical treatment,automobile,jewelry and so on,and it will be applied to more areas in the future.The material for this translation report is the eleventh chapter excerpted from the book 3D Printing: Legal,Philosophical and Economic Dimensions,in which the development of 3D printing technology and the relationship between 3D printing and the third industrial revolution are reviewed,and some measures that the government can take to promote the development of 3D printing are put forward.This translation report falls into four main parts: task description,process description,case analysis and summary.The first part of the report presents the source,author and main contents of the book 3D Printing: Legal,Philosophical and Economic Dimensions and significance of the topic.The second part reviews the translator’s work during the translation process,including the translation strategy,translation aids and revision.At the core of the report is case analysis in which the selected examples from the aspects of vocabulary,syntax,discourse and background knowledge are studied.The last part summarizes the experience gained from this translation practice.The translator is aware that professional background knowledge is the guarantee of the translation quality and the use of translation aids is the key to improving the translation quality.
