Emotion is an important component of the psychological system, and the attention bias of facial expression is a novel research in recent years. In the past, attention to emotional faces was mainly used for the study of special groups such as social anxiety, depression, autism, while shyness is a special form of social anxiety. The study shows that shyness is more prevalent among Chinese College Students.Their avoidance behavior in some public places has seriously affected their normal social interaction.A great deal of research on shyness has made some achievements, and most of them are from the aspect of behavioral measurement techniques. In recent years, scholars at home and abroad have embarked on a study of shyness cognitive and neural mechanisms, but there are few studies on the eye movements of shy college students of different genders. Objective:based on the previous study, this paper will be included in the scope of the study of gender,in order to explore the influence of the level of shyness and gender on the faces of attention bias and find different gender shy people on the face information attention characteristics.Method:This study is divided into two Experiments.Experiment 1 is 2(shy level: high group / low group)×2(subjects sex: male / female)two factors between the subjects designed. It is intended to use simple social scene images as experimental materials and natural neutral scenes as fillers.Using the eye movement technique observes the attention of the shy individual to the social face,so as to deeply analyze the eye movement characteristics of the social face picture of the high and low shy people of different sexes.Experiment 2 is 2(shy level: high group / low group)×2(stimulus type: positive-neutral pair / negative-neutral pair)×2(gender matching: consistent / inconsistent)three factors mixed experimental design. The Behavioral response time and eye movement indicators are dependent variables. In order to find out the characteristics of attention of different sex shy people to different valence emotional face pictures.Results:(1)When looking at the pictures of social faces, the interaction between shyness level and gender is obvious. The average pupil size(2641)of the high-shy men was significantly greater than that of high-shy women(1879),and the total fixation time(966.88)of the high-shy women was significantly greater than that of low-shy women(818.44).Both in the two indexes of IA first fixation duration and IA fixation percentage(%),high shyness was significantly higher than that of low shyness.(2)when looking at the pictures of emotional faces, the results of the behavior show that the attention bias(28.76)of the individual to the positive face picture is significantly greater than the attention bias(-7.72)for the negative face picture. The results of eye movement show that the total gaze time(822.64)and the first fixation duration(260.06)of high shyness were significantly higher than those of the low-shy total fixation time(752.04)and the first time(230.94).The average pupil size(1836.31)and the first fixation duration(254.52)of the individual for negative face images were also significantly larger than the average pupil size(1723.45)and the first fixation duration(237.32)for the positive face images.Individuals' total fixation time(816.04)for homosexual negative face images was significantly greater than that of homosexual positive face images(760.50).Conclusion:(1)The high-shy men are more likely to be awakened by the face information in the social scene and are alert to them. The high-shy women tend to have a detailed and holistic approach to social faces, there is a notice to maintain.(2)From the attention bias indicators, individuals have a vigilance and maintenance to positive pictures, and they have a avoidance to negative pictures.(3)Individuals with a higher degree of shyness have a vigilance and maintenance to emotional pictures.Individuals have a vigilance to negative emotional faces in the early stages. And with the emotional facial stimulus presentation time extension, they have a maintenance to the same sex negative emotions.
