Language Use Survey Of Yi Nationality Teenagers In Liangshan Prefecture

Autonomous Yi Prefecture of Liangshan,is the biggest Yi Prefecture in China.It is located at the border of Yunnan and Sichuan,where is in the southwest of Sichuan province.The area is about 60.4 thousand square kilometers.The total population is 5.15 million,including 52.5 percent of Yi population.For the sake of communication with Han people,it is normal to have a contact with Han language there.The important reason for the development and change of language is the contact between languages.The important content of knowing about the structure and evolving rules on language is the study of language contact.The place being investigated,Autonomous Yi Prefecture of Liangshan,have became the bilingual community.The phenomenon of bilingual combination and language code switching is very usual.Embody definitely : in more and more occasions,Yi language speakers communicate using borrowed words or alternation of two languages.It mostly happens in the progress of working and studying.The respondents of this survey are the capital of Autonomous Yi Prefecture of Liangshan,Xichang,teenagers.I collect rich material through analysis and summary of more than one thousand questionnaires.The thesis have a detailed description of characteristic and case about local Yi teenagers language using and give a scientific explanation according to general situation and relative theories.The survey discovers that the Yi language level of teenagers is remarkably descending.I studies the language attitude of Yi teenagers.Subjectively,interviewees love their mother language.But because of the influence of objective factors,they are lack of the awareness of protection.Abandon the right to use mother language needs to deliberate.The survey has a benefit to the work of language protection and the adjustment of language policy.It has both theoretically meaning and realistic meaning.
