For this translation project, the author chooses The Five Bullets as source text.It is a typically literal work filled with a large amount of American slangs and some other idiomatic expressions, which seem to be a great challenge for the author to translate it from English into Chinese.During translation, the author finds it the most demanding and challenging to convey the exact meaning and ideas of the source text in target language because of the cultural d ifference. Therefore, under the guidance of dynamic equivalence theory, the author attempts to explore applicable translation strategies in the process of translation and solved the difficulties reasonably.Through the combination of theory and practice,t he author employs the strategies of lexicology equivalence, syntax equivalence, passage equivalence as well as genre equivalence to successfully eliminate the influence of cultural discrepancy and translate the sentences with slangs and idiomatic expressio n in such a way that the core meaning and ideas of the source text can be conveyed accurately and the translated version is in line with the expression habits of the target language, thus guaranteeing the readers' accurate understanding of the source text. This project is expected to be able to make contribution to the translation of similar texts, and to provide valuable and practical reference for other translators when encountering the same problems.
