Based on the comparison of lexical structure of Chinese and Spanish,this study took the Chinese compound words and the corresponding Spanish paraphrase in the vocabulary of Chinese textbooks Today's Chinese(Spanish annotated version,Book II & Book III)as the research object,adopting both qualitative and quantitative approach to achieve a comparative analysis and motivation analysis.On the basis of the study,the writer proposed relevant teaching suggestion and also gave comments on the compilation of the word list for the learners with Spanish as their mother tongue.This dissertation consisted mainly of four chapters:The first chapter mainly elaborated the Topic Basis and relevant research background,following by the description and explanation of research content,method,significance of this study and also the relevant theoretical basis.The second chapter took the vocabulary of Chinese textbooks Today's Chinese(Spanish annotated version,Book II & Book III)as the research object.This part of study started with an overall statistical analysis on the vocabulary and then zoomed in on the Chinese compound words and their Spanish paraphrase for comparison.It took 5 dimensions,including ‘Classification of Compound Words',‘Correspondent ratio on Relationship,Part-of-speech,Semantics and Sequence of Chinese compound words and Spanish paraphrase' for the comparison regarding the lexical morphology.For the next chapter,the write continued the study with a further motivation analysis focusing on both structure and semantics of the Chinese compound words and the corresponding Spanish paraphrase.In the fourth chapter,the writer proposed relevant teaching suggestion and also gave comments on the compilation of the word list.
