The major revolutionary history TV play is an important type of Chinese TV plays,which shows the Chinese modern history of revolution and construction.Historical narrative is one of the important traditions of Chinese narrative,which has a profound impact on the development of Chinese narrative art.The paper introduces Chinese narrative tradition into the study,and analyzes the inheritance and development to summarize the narrative characteristics of the TV play on the basis of the new situation in recent five years.The introduction part defines the related definitions and research categories,affirms the feasibility and value of the study,and establishes the research methods.The main body of the paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly discusses the major revolutionary history TV play inherits the narrative concept of Chinese historical narrative.The TV play continues the attitude of respecting history and valuing the educational function of history,and transforms this attitude into practice.In addition,the TV play inherits the "real record" principle of the history narrative,and deals with historical reality and artistic fiction according to the requirements of it’s own artistic characteristics.About aesthetics,the TV play continues the noble and tragic aesthetic keynote of Chinese history-biography literature,and it forms simple and clear narrative style by using Chinese line-drawing.The second chapter mainly discusses the inheritance of narrative strategy.Firstly,the TV play continues the narrative structure of Chinese historical narrative.It inherits superficial chronological narrative,biographical narrative,and JiShiBenMo narrative,and inner moral logic,emotional logic and historical logic of historical narrative.Secondly,the TV play inherits the narrative intervention strategy of Chinese historical narrative.In order to achieve the purpose of preaching,narrators directly explain and comments by themselves,or give opinions by the characters.Thirdly,the TV play also continues the narrative perspective of Chinese history-biography literature.Narrators reasonably uses the omniscient perspective and the limited perspective to present the story world,and combines heroic perspective and civilian perspective to lead a multiple perception of history.The third chapter mainly discusses the TV plays develops the Chinese historical narrative,according to the artistic features of TV play.Firstly,the TV play overcomes the shortcoming of lacking emotions in historical narrative,It shows the epic narrative style by showing the whole picture of magnificent history and expressing poetic emotions.Secondly,from the perspective of the drama ontology,the TV play mixes other elements,such as spy elements and love elements,to enhance the dramatic conflict and suspense,and complex dramatic situation.Finally,from the perspective of the TV art ontology,visuality and continuity of the TV play affects plot and lifestyle of narrative.In short,as a special type,the major revolutionary history TV play’s characteristics is not only the important content,the profound subject and the rigorous censorship,but also is inheritance and development of narrative concept and narrative strategy of Chinese narrative tradition.By introducing the Chinese narrative tradition into the study of TV play,it is significant to explore the value of Chinese traditional culture and explore the horizon of TV play research.
