| Traffic is an important guarantee for a country’s subsistence.The study on Jin’s traffic relates to appearance of numerous Jin’s social phenomena,such as political,economic,military and cultural communication.The traffic study on Jin is a basis of the study on Shanxi traffic history.Moreover,it is an important part of the study on Jin’s history,culture and literature.Jin’s traffic develops from Shu Yu given the land called Tang to Jin Jinggong abdicated to be a civilian.After more than 600 years of development,it evolved from a limited number of streets around the capital Jiang to a transportation network with corresponding traffic facilities,radiating out from the center: Jiang and Xintian.The development of traffic also has a profound impact on its political development,business prosperity,ideology,culture and so on.This thesis is launched describing mainly around the focus of Jin’s traffic,which includes introduction,conclusion and four main parts.The first part discusses Jin’s geography conditions and social environment for its traffic development.Traffic construction has a close relation with the geography and different geographical environments make different traffic conditions.This part introduces the situation of terrain,climate,rivers and natural resources in Shanxi which is the main body of Jin,and it also introduces their impact on traffic.In terms of social conditions,it discusses Shanxi’s traffic conditions during the primitive society,Xia dynasty,Shang dynasty and western Zhou dynasty before the history of Jin.Traffic has a certain continuity,so Jin’s traffic develops basing on the early stage of its construction.Furthermore,this part also analyzes the promoting effects on Jin’s traffic from many aspects,such as military affairs,commerce and nationality communication.The second part mainly discusses Jin’s roads and traffic.According to the chronological order of Jin’s development and the difference of regional focuses on road extension,it discusses states of road construction under each different historical division from Shu Yu to Jinggong,and it also analyzes the reasons of roads’ construction,direction,functions and the usage after construction.Next,it refers to road conditions between Jin and other important states,namely Qin,Qi,Chu and Wu,during the spring and autumn period.Then,it illustrates the state of road building and management in Jin.Lastly,it introduces the usage of Jin’s traffic tool-carriage,horse and boat.The third part expounds the construction of Jin’s postal delivery system and the development of transport facilities including the pass,bridge and ferry.The fifth part is the distillation of content above to find out the relationship between Jin’s traffic and its politics,economy and culture.Traffic is the tool of political domination of Jin dynasty.To some certain extent,Jin’s dominance and existence are closely related to traffic.Jin dynasty control of the important traffic lines and strongholds,which had affectetd its foreign war,military construction.The development of traffic makes the agriculture,handicraft industry,commercial prosperity and development,economic structure from a single to multiple.Under the influence of traffic,Jin’s culture continnes to develop.With the development of traffic,Jin dynasty also appeared in the customs etiquette.The conclusion part mainly gives a summary of Jin’s traffic and development characteristics and discusses limitations of my study. |
