Research On Ecological Justice Problems In Urbanization Process

The ecological justice problem in the process of urbanization is being the hot topic that draws wide attention.Urban environmental deterioration is increasingly severe;urban resources are in shortage;water pollution and air pollution is growingly serious,which disturb people’s life seriously.With the rapid development of society and economy,from the perspective of the whole urban development,ecological resource distribution among cities is imbalanced severely;the gap of development among different cities is wider,regional departmentalism ignores the integrity of ecological protection;the severe conflict of ecological interest between developed areas and under-developed areas needs to be solved.From the perspective of social individual behavior,the severe wasted extravagance and consumption alienation still exist;a huge amount of domestic garbage is piled up like a mountain;Urban space and living environment are threatened with discarded items not being disposed.From the perspective of values and ideology,with expansion of egoism,continuous pursuing maximization of economic profit,weakness of environmental protecting awareness and lack of guidance of ecological conception,people do not take environment bearing capacity into consideration as well as their practice violating the objective law of nature.As a result,people’s behaviors lead to the severe urban ecological crisis.In this paper,Marxism materialism is the basic standpoint.Marxist philosophy,ecological philosophy,social science,management science and other theory are used as theoretical foundation.With the principle of uniformity of history and logic,overall thinking methodology,literature research methods and comparative analysis methods are adopted to analyze problems like injustice of resource allocation and responsibility among regions and social classes,individual alienation consumption and pursuing the maximization of economic value in the process of urbanization.The contradiction of realization of ecological justice is summarized in the process of urbanization.Finally,the ways and measures to realize the ecological justice in the process of urbanization are put forward.Firstly,literature research methods and comparative analysis methods are used to summarize ecological justice’theoretical development process and characteristics,the main theories of ecological justice.Reference and application value of these theories were demonstrated in China’s urbanization process and conclude that the solution to the problem of ecological justice in the process of urbanization should be based on the idea of ecological justice.Secondly,the current development of the urbanization in our country is summarized clearly and analyzes the objective factors and historical factors of China’s urban-rural dual structure.The problem of valuing economic development but neglecting environment protection,the urban environmental crisis and the increasing depletion of resources caused by the unfair distribution of the ecological resources were clarified.Thirdly,this paper expounds three aspects of the contradiction of ecological problems:the contradiction of different social classes,the contradiction between ecological interests in different regions and ethnic groups.The state should balance the ecological responsibilities and obligations of the developed and under-developed areas,the rich and the poor,and the different ethnic groups in the intra generation.People should properly restrict their own practice behavior between generations.Modern people should not only fulfill the responsibility of ecological protection,but also be responsible for the development of future generations.The relationship between human and nature is demonstrated in the inter-generational relationship.Fourthly,by using the theory of Ecological Justice,root cause of ecological justice problems in the process of urbanization were analyzed,proves that the root of ecological problems in the process of urbanization mainly lies in the people’s pursuit of the maximization interests during their producing and was resulted by tendency of serious regional departmentalism and individual consumption alienation.Fifthly,from the point of ecological justice theory,methods of how to realize ecological justice in the process of urbanization were put forward.At the ideological level,discarding the old human centered ideology,turning to new one,advocate people to make justice consumption,promote the harmony between man and nature,and create a favorable environment for the development of the city.In the legal level,find loopholes in the existing environment law,establish strict ecological environment compensation mechanism,ensure fairness between the subject when distributing rights and responsibilities of ecological resources,realize the unity of rights and responsibilities,manage and restrict harmful behavior of ecological environment and let the city develop in a reasonable way,following the realistic objective law.In the end,it is proved that the urban ecological justice is the inherent requirement of sustainable development and the foundation of building a harmonious society.Ecological problems,in the final analysis,are resulted by confrontation relations between mankind and nature.To solve the ecological problems,it is necessary to study the nature of its emergence from the perspective of ecological justice theory.Only in this way,the method can be found.Ecological justice aims to solve problems like how man and nature coexist in harmony,ecological interests between man and man,man and society and harmonize the sharp contradiction between urbanization and ecological resources,to achieve the appropriate and rational development.
