The study of regional literature gradually aroused the attention of scholars, because if a literary works is analyzed from the perspective of regional culture, you can see its inherent character and temperament. In the perspective of regional literature, the city literature in Guangdong gradually showed its vitality.This paper chooses the novel of Xili’s as the object of the study, discusses the urban imagination in her novels, aims to explore the "immigration" writers on the construction of the city image of Guangdong, as well as the cultural awareness and the aesthetic concept behind the construction,thus sorts out the complex relationship between "non-natives" and the city.Xili’s novel is a kind of phenomenon in Guangdong literature, and her works represent a writing characteristic in Guangdong urban literature - the conflict between the looking back of the hometowns of "non-natives" and the living in the city. The rapid development of urbanization in Guangdong provides the growth nutrients for urban novels. Many of the"immigrants" writers came to Guangdong, focusing on writing life experiences of large cities and all kinds of urban masks. The most leading cities which are written include Guangzhou,Dongguan, Shenzhen, Foshan and so on.The two concepts of "urban imagination" and "literary imagination" overlap one another and mix together, but there are some differences in personality and cultural characteristics,and the main body of the imagination and contemporaneity which cities bear are different too,besides, there is a difference between time and space. If you can interpret the text of Xili’s novels and learn how to integrate the regional culture by imagination, it has a certain theoretical value.It is also the theoretical value of the thesis that Xili’s novels should be analyzed in time and space to understand the humanistic temperament and spiritual pursuit presented by urban novels and to explore the general law of the development of Guangdong literature."Immigrant" writers have become an important writing force in Guangdong literature. As one of the non-native writers as well as an "outlander", Xili depicts the city, forming a more three-dimensional "urban imagination".A city in the concept of "city imagination" is not only an actually existing city, but also an imagination body which contains the author’s temperament and feelings. Based on Xili’s novel, as well as combining her own literary creation experience to explore and analyze the works of urban imagination , you can feel the imagination city’s tension and limitations.This paper explores the city image and the cultural awareness and aesthetic concept behind the construction in Xili’s novels by adopting the research perspective and research method of regional literature.Combined with the theory of "urban imagination" at home and abroad, this paper aims to analyze, to deconstruct the works as well as to know Xili’s creation characteristics. And then it uses the comparative analysis method and helps to grasp the universality and individuality by combining other non-native writers’ works; thus the concrete impression of the city’s imagination in Xili’s novels is formed through the literature research method to learn more about the "city imagination" problem.
