| This ’thesis has interpreted Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns from the perspective of the feminist narratology. The feminist narratology formed by the feminism and the narratology theories provides a new perspective for the analysis of literary texts. Three aspects of the feminist narratology have been applied to interpret the novel: the analysis of authorial voice and the communal voice in the novel presents the oppressions on the Afghan women; conflicts between male focalizers and female focalizers present gender conflicts; free indirect discourse acts as a platform for Afghan women to send their voice and presents their consciousness of struggle. |
