A Study On The Semantic Of The New Term "X Ge"

In recent years,the new term "X brother" has become an important topic in academic circles.Based on the 576 "X ge" words from Xinhua net,the paper talks about the semantic types,the semantic relations and semantic cognition of "X ge",by using the semantic feature analysis method,the downgrading predication construction and implicit predicate reduction,the graph-background scanning theory and the Event-domain Cognition Model theory.The full text has six parts:The first part is the introduction.This part briefly introduces the present research situation in academic circle and the main problems of the research on the kind of new nouns,and also briefly introduces the research of this paper.The second part is about the diachronic change of the semantics of "ge" and the nature of "X brother".The diachronic meaning of "ge" indicates that "ge" changes its meaning from a kinship term to a class relative appellation,and then to a pan relative appellation in popular language.Due to the content of "ge",the "X ge" is regarded as a modifying compound word.Part 3 is about the semantic types of "X ge".The semantic types of "X" can be described and classified by space and time.Seen from space,the relationship of the "XNP" and "ge" includes congruence,inclusion,co-occurrence and accommodation."X" more and more highlights the shallow and appear characteristics of “ge”."X" highlights the characters of “ge” from the kernel to peripheral,presenting a trend of shallow.From the time,the "XVP/XAP" highlight the permanent or transient characteristics of "ge"."X" more and more highlights the brief and occasional characteristics of “ge”,also presenting a trend of shallow.The trend of shallow in the characteristic highlight of "ge" makes the semantic of "X ge" ambiguity and semantic relation complex.This part tries to explain "X" semantic ambiguity(semantic understanding pluripotency)problem from the trend of shallow.Part four is about the types of the internal semantic relationship of "X ge".The part detailedly describes and analyzes the internal semantic relationship between "X"and "ge" using the downgrading predication construction and implicit predicate reduction.These descriptions and analysis shows that the internal semantic relationship of the "X ge" is complex.The internal semantic relations of " XNP +ge"includes "Appositive relation","" Possessive relationship","Object-subject relationship","Results-subject relations" and so on,including 13 categories(15 small classes).The characters of the internal semantic relation of "X ge" mainly includes two parts,the complexity of the internal semantic relation and the non-correspondence between the semantic relation and the expression form.This part attempts to explain the semantic ambiguity of "X ge" from the implicit predicate.Part five is about the semantic cognition of "X ge".The scanning level of "X ge" is described by using the scenario,scanning,and graph-background theory.Using the graphic-background scanning of "X ge",the "X" feature is explained in a cognitive way.When "X" and "ge" is congruent in space,the feature of the "ge" is scanned for the first time.When the "X" and "ge" is other relations in space,or "X" is the behavior or evaluation characteristic of "ge",the characteristics of the "ge" will be scanned in the second scanning.The layers of scanning are closely related to the "X" feature,and the more superficial characteristic of “ge”,the smaller the effort of the cognitive subject at the time of scanning,called a shallow scan.The deeper the feature is,the greater effort the cognitive subject offers,called the deeper scan.In the first scan,the event is the background,and "X" and "ge" graphs.In the second scan,"ge" is the background,and "X" the figure.The event-domain cognitive model of "X ge" is described using the theory of Event-domain Cognition Model.In this paper,the theory of Event-domain Cognition Model of "X ge" is supplemented for the theory of graph-background theory of "X ge",which explains the variety of selection and semantic refinement of "X" from a cognitive perspective.The final part is the conclusion.Summarize the conclusion of the main research,and analogy to other new terms,especially to "X + jie/mei/ge/ye/shu",etc..We think "X" and "X + jie/mei/ge/ye/shu" form a cluster."X" identity,semantic types,internal semantic relations,scanning mode,and event-domain cognitive model can analogy to other relatives appellation word "jie" "di" "mei" "shu" "ye" and "sao".These words also change their means from kinship term to a class relative appellation,and then to a pan relative appellation."X" also mainly highlights the subject "jie","mei","di","sao","ye" [+ object],[+ behavior] and [+evaluation] characteristics."X ge" has the corresponding "X jie/mei/sao/ye".This article research is helpful to "X" emerging indicating noun semantic understanding,to naming the subjects of news events and to guiding the encoding and decoding of the name.
