From the end of the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the end of Song Kingdom of the Southern Dynasty,tribal governance declined and royal family regained power.With this political background,this paper focuses on the degradation of Jingzhou Town,start with the rival between Jingzhou analyzes the changes of Jinzhou’s political and military standing.Therefore,the impact of Jingzhong on Song kingdom’s political situation could be better understand.Liuyu gradually established Song Kingdom with the aid of Jingkou Beifu,a military organization.Daring the process of establishment,Liuyu destroyed Jingzhou’s local military power of Huanxuan,Liuyi and Sima Xiuzhi.After obtaining the control by dividing the town into districts and designated princes to govern them.Such moves eliminated traditional monopoly of the town by tribes,and stabilized Jingzhou as a strategic town upstream the Yangtze River.LiuYiLong started political struggles with heavyweights in JingPing period and sent troops to suppress Xiehui after ascending to the throne.Jingzhou then was back to Song Kingdom’s control against Xiehui’s failure.Throughout YuanJia period,primees’ suppression of Jingzhou had played a constructive role to the stabilization of Jingzhou and the whole country.At the end of Yuanjia period,Liushao was killed by Liujun who gave full play to Yongzhou local power and ascended to the throne.Because of the unstable political and military situation,emperor Liujun suppressed Liu Yixuan’s rebellion and began to eliminate threat from Jingzhou.Jingzhou was farther divided while Yongzhou was developed.Thereafter,Jingzhou was no longer as critical as it had been in Eastern Jin dynasty or at the beginning of Song Kingdom.Marginalization of Jingzhou Town by Emperor Liujun was witnessed by Shen Youzhi’s fight against Xiao Daocheng.Shen Youzhi’s force was barred by Yingzhou city and he was later killed from defeat.By that time,Jingzhou had turned out to be a marginal region,no longer able to sway political situation of Southern dynasty as a strategic town.
