A Study On The Syntactic And Semantics Attributes Of The Verb-object Separable Words And The Related Constructions Patterns

In modern Chinese,the separable words known as liheci is a distinct and common language phenomenon.It has been being one of the focus of academic research for many years as well.Whether from the traditional perspective like grammatical,semantic,pragmatic or emerging perspective like cognitive,functional both are attracting to explore.On the basis of the previous study results,this thesis makes a concentrated discussion on the syntactic and semantic attributes of the verb-object separable words(the VO liheci)and the characteristics of common construction composed by the VO liheci.This thesis has three parts including five chapters.The first part includes chapter 1 and chapter 2.Chapter 1 mainly introduces the research process and status of the separable words,and points out some shortcomings of the current research,and puts forward the research perspective,research content,research methods and corpus sources of this thesis.In chapter 2 the thesis defines the scope of the VO liheci.This chapter also discusses the description frame made by Professor Chen Changlai,used to describe the syntactic and semantics attributes of the verb,and then divides the VO liheci into three kinds of valence quantity type(monovalent,bivalent,trivalent)and three kinds of valence quality type(action type,trait type,psychological type).The second part is the main part of this article,including chapter 3 and chapter 4.Chapter 3 describes syntax semantic attributes of the VO liheci in detail according to the description frame introduced above.In Chapter 4,the three main constructions chosen from the syntactic expression of the VO liheci are discussed,from the semantic features,cognitive motivations and pragmatic diversity perspective.The third part is the conclusion of this article,the content of this article is summarized and the shortness and the potential is pointed out at last.
