A Report Of Lexical Cohesion Devices In E-C Translation On English Sports Reportages

With the rapid development of the world economy and the process of globalization accelerating,the spiritual and cultural life needs to be improved correspondingly.In this sense,sports are playing an increasing important role in promoting human physical and mental health and enriching social culture,which produces the need for literature works about sports.Reportages on sports subject are a kind of prose genre derived from news reports and documentary prose,both literary and journalistic,and are attracting more and more attention in recent years.China has made some research achievements in the study of sports discourse,but it has not been involved in the translation of foreign sports reports.In light of this point,the translator selected the first three chapters of The Sweet Science as the translation corpus,with the theory of lexical cohesion as the support,and analyzed the language phenomenon in the process of translation,and then summarized the characteristics of cohesions in English sports report literature.The author of The Sweet Science is Mr.A.J.Liebling,who has an authoritative position in boxing writing and so this is of great significance for studying the development of foreign sports report literature.In this report,the practice of translation is based on the theory of lexical cohesion,and the four types of cohesion involved in the translation process were analyzed one by one.Combining with the translation examples,the author made a compare between source language and target language.In accordance with the text function and its language features,the translator revised the translation draft.
