The postgraduate students majored in English education are the subjects of the research.By investigating their current situation of teaching reflective ability,the thesis proposes some basic methods for apprentice teachers to conduct teaching reflection in the process of educational practice.The thesis also gives the corresponding suggestions to help English apprentice teachers adapt to the teaching job quickly and improve the professional knowledge gradually.Specifically speaking,the thesis aims at discussing the following questions:1.What’s the current situation of English apprentice teachers’ teaching reflective ability?2.What factors that affect English apprentice teachers’ teaching reflective ability?The thesis mainly includes the following five parts:The first part is an introduction,which covers the rationale,the significance and the purpose of the study.The second part consists of the research situation of the domestic and abroad,definitions of related concepts and the theoretical basis of the study.The third part is the research methods.They cover with a questionnaire and an interview.The main part of the questionnaire is divided into three dimensions: the theoretical reflective ability,the experience reflective ability and the reflective perseverance.The fourth part shows the research results and a discussion.Through the survey of the targeted English apprentice teachers,combined with SPSS 17.0 and interview,the author draws the following results:(1)The teaching reflective ability of English apprentice teachers is medium.Among the three dimensions,the experience reflective ability is in the highest stage,the reflective perseverance is relatively low,and the theoretical reflective ability is in the lowest stage.(2)English apprentice teachers’ teaching reflective ability has no significant differences in the location of internship schools.(3)English apprentice teachers’ teaching reflective ability has significant difference in gender.(4)English apprentice teachers’ teaching reflective ability has significant correlation with their critical thinking tendency to a large extent.(5)The main reasons that affect apprentice teachers’ teaching reflective ability are the lack of reflective theories and skills,reflective atmosphere and instruction from mentors.The fifth part is the suggestions to the cultivation of English apprentice teachers’ teaching reflective ability,which mainly includes the suggestions from the perspectives of apprentice teachers themselves and educational authorities.
