| Talking about the English composer Gustavus Thedore von Holst,his best masterpiece was The Planets,and we can considered it as a one of few in number and a famous Program Suite which it was also as a milestone work in his life.Its influence and status were significant in both British and global scales.Therefore,The suite has been studied and discussed by many researchers.In the 19 th and 20 th century,not only art aspect and literary area but philosophy was embraced in a “Flowers Bloom” era.Holst's suite was particular in this very moment.It had became a fundamental work in 20 th music of revolution since it utilized the method which combine the conventional writing techniques with modern skills and it had a considerable value in academic areas.Meanwhile,under the circumstance of the one hundred anniversary of the suite.Author chose Holster's respectively famous“The planets” for related analysis and research.In this paper we would like to study the suite in five aspects.First,analyzing in theme aspects by showing variety of styles by giving examples and analysis.Second,The Planets was studied in harmonic analysis,it was analyzed by harmonic structure and harmonic progressions.Third,studying by musical form,combining the seven musical form structure charts and using text description to analyze musical form.Fourth,the Orchestra analysis,by using analysis in parts of score to analysis the traditional orchestration and modern orchestration.Fifth,the sound effect analysis,by using the waveform to analysis each movement in The Planets.In this article,author associated some ideas based on Holst's creation concept to support my views.I will analyzed the seven movements in the suite to improve our level of cognitive,clarity and getting a new break though in our studies.By fully understanding the method of Orchestration and sound effects in the suite.We will use a new approach and enlighten ahigher level of intelligence to write and analyze works effectively and efficiently. |
