Inside And Outside Of The "Glass Cover"

The complicated images in legend can be found everywhere,such as mirror,moon,color,glass,tears,and light shadow and so on.Analysis many image elements in common,including coldness,fragile,separated space,vanity etc.According to its characteristics,I summarized the classification of the image system in Legend;it can be divided into three levels: mirror image,color image,monologue mental image.Based on the three main lines,with Lacan's mirror theory,Saussure language signifier and signified theory,I analysis Eileen Chang's novels with the purpose of the construction of the image "glass".In the research field of the integration,to interpret the depth of main image,the "glass",it is not a purely physical environment,but the complicated mental space,the desolate feelings in the writer to the intricacies of the "image element" with infinite means.First,ordinary people in a transparent fragile "glass","mirror" image group to be telling material carrier of life experience,through the "mirror" reflects the ordinary people hidden in the depths of the soul of the repressed self-cognition.Second,the colorful glass,color image easy to find to build a strange "prison ",bearing the sad beauty of emotional images.Third,ordinary people live alone in a closed glass,to confided,reveal the trivialization of life under real and simple mental image.From the above,it can be seen that the "glass" image system in Legend is a multidimensional structure,which contains many kinds of "images" such as sensation,perception and emotion.Eileen Chang with the help of the external mirror image,color image,as the invisible network,gives the figures' "mental image" spiritual shack.The glass appears to be transparent to see the outside world,but the figures will never go out of the bounded reality.Taking what is above-mentioned into account,trying to show my ideas of my paper,through multi-perspective research,rereading Eileen Chang's Legend,I analysis the distinctive glass image,using sociology,linguistics,psychology and subtle imagery to appreciate Legend repeatedly,striving to explore the image behind the implication of artistic charm.The experience of Eileen Chang with the external images,taunt with a deep sympathy and compassion,and examine the era of that special time to ordinary people,whether it is bounded in the enclosure,or escape finally inducted in the depression and pain,people are still struggling in the dying Legend in the world,it is difficult to break out of the plight of iron chains.
