Purposes: The level of self-awareness of children in primary and secondary schools is investigated with the development of grade.Depict the development curve.And describe the differences in the development of self-consciousness among children of different sexes.Examine the development of self-awareness of children with different academic grades.Examine the development of self-consciousness and academic performance related to the growth of grade.Exploring the Developing Track of Students’ Self-consciousness in Different Academic Achievements.Methods: A total of 1123 students in the second,third,fourth and fifth grade of Dabei Street Primary School and The Tenth Middle School of Nanchong were selected as the object.Using the Piers-Harris Children’s Self-Awareness Scale to measure the student’s self-awareness status.The average score of the three major exams is used to represent the student’s academic performance.Results: The self-consciousness level of children aged 8 to 16 years was developed in the form of double V-shaped curve.There were two declining periods,two rising periods,one stationary period.Grade two is the highest,Grade eight is the lowest.The development pattern of male and female students is very different.For the level of self-consciousness of children with different academic achievement,the difference is significant in the second,third,fourth and fifth grade,and from high to low is upper medium students,excellent students,lower medium students,poor students;the difference is not significant in Grade seven,Grade eight in junior high school,and Grade one in high school.Compared with peers,the level of self-awareness of superior students is higher in the primary school stage,lower in the middle school stage,but the behavior,intelligence is significantly higher than other students.Academic scores and self-consciousness has a significant positive correlation in the second,third,fourth and fifth grade,and it is not significant in the seven,eight,ten grades;self-consciousness on the multiple regression analysis of academic performance found that these three factors of intelligence,anxiety,appearance have a predictive effect on academic performance.
