Tong Ya written by Fang Yizhi has a total of 52 vo lumes,3 at the beginning.It is divided into 44 categories,including shigu,astronomy,geography and other aspects.The book has 3210 entries,in order to research ancient meaning as the core,explain naming,measure words exegesis,involve dialect and slang.As a result,it has great influence on later generations.But the research of Tong Ya at present is not suffic ient,exploration of each volume is not very profound,many problems need to be discussed.We choose the 19 th vo lume of Tong Ya,correct errors,complement shortcomings and explain doubts.Thesis consists of three chapters : introduction,main body and epilogue.The first chapter introduces nature and status of Tong Ya,the study of Appellation,our research ideas and methods.The second chapter does comments and explanations on Tong Ya Appellation one by one.Checking content referenced in the original text based on original literature,discriminating views presented in the original text based on existing materials,supplementing insuffic ient,advancing time.If controversy exists,we put forward our own views,or remain in doubt.Especially concerned with sound and meaning materials.Meanwhile,comparing with the CiYuan,Hanyu Dazidian and Hanyu Dacidian,discovering the value of revision on large-scale Chinese lexicographical work.The conclusion part summarizes three major characteristics of a wide range of words,loading one’s pages with references and clear context.Generalizing the meaning of exploring the nature of language,dictionary compilation and revis ion and promoting cultural heritage.Pointing out the lack of materials and viewpoints,easy to better reveal the value of the history of its language and the value of linguistic history.
