The Reflection Of Inclination Experience In Thai Writer Malai Choopiniji’s Novels

Malai Choopiniji(1906-1963)was a world-renowned writer,translator and journalist of Thailand,he’s one of the founders of Thai New Literature,and he’s quite active in the early stage of Modern Literature.His novels were numerous and influential.This paper,from the perspective of inclination experience of literary psychology,combined with Malai Choopiniji’s creation background,personal experience,philosophy,his friends’ evaluation,etc.,analyzed the reflection of the childhood inclination experience,nature inclination experience and religion inclination experience in his novels seriatim,to explore his creation thoughts and the spiritual home he built in his novels.The childhood inclination experience reflected in that he brought the childhood memory of places,events,and characters into his novels,as novel scenes,plots and characters prototype,to express the wish of returning to childhood’s simplicity,nature and genuineness.The nature inclination experience reflected in his pursuit of the idea of natural eco-environment,the natural relationship between living organisms and the natural physical and mental state,it expressed a strong life ideal and artistic ideal of returning to nature,recovering the original simplicity,and being integrated with nature.The religion inclination experience reflected in his life philosophy of self-restraint and leniency by illustrating the Buddhist philosophy that all acts were transient and all desires were suffering.Malai Choopiniji lived in a transition stage from Thai traditional political rule to the Western democracy,Thai people not only insisted on the traditional ideology,but also accepted the Western influence.The characteristics of "Thai-style Westernization" presented in Malai Choopiniji’s creation,was the reflection of reality in literary creation.He insisted on the Thai traditional culture which based on the Buddhist philosophy,and referenced the suitable Western advanced ideology by a humanitarian lens,warmed wounded hearts with sacred religious sentiments,and appealed to build a free,plentiful,and peaceful spiritual home.
