Self-control is not only an indispensable factor that accompanies the individuals’ life to maturity, but also the driving force for the continuous progress of human society. The energy model of self-control holds that the individuals’ self-control consumes its internal psychological control energy or resources, and if that energy is insufficient, the individual will be caught in ego-depletion,resulting in some problems, including its various social adaptive abilities get damaged and performance is reduced in subsequent activities.Previous studies have shown that individuals are more prone to conduct bad behaviors(such as attack, deceit, etc.)and reduce good behaviors(such as altruistic behavior)in ego-depletion state, but the influencing mechanism of ego-depletion on altruistic behavior remains to be further clarified : for instance, the studies of the past mainly took college students as the object, and used low ego-depletion tasks to explore the impact of ego-depletion on the follow-up behaviors(such as altruistic behavior),but in real life, the intensity of ego-depletion is far less than this, how is the impact of a higher degree ego-depletion on altruistic behavior? Will the impact of ego-depletion on altruistic behavior be influenced by individuals self-control? Another study shows that supplementation of physiological energy(glucose)has a role of compensation on the ego-depletion,and then in different ego-depletion state, what will be happened for altruistic behavior of the middle school students after replenishing physiological energy(glucose)? To this end,the study considers the middle school students as the object, takes “Stroop”task as the ego-depletion materials of psychological control, first explores the impact of ego-depletion on middle school students’ altruistic behavior(Experiment 1);Then,it inspects the altruistic behaviors of the middle school students with different self-control levels after ego-depletion(Experiment 2).Finally,it makes intervention through supplementing the physiological energy for the middle school students after ego-depletion,and discusses the altruistic behavior of the middle school students in different ego-depletion(glucose)after supplementing the physiological energy(Experiment 3).Through the above three experiments, this study obtained the following conclusions:(1)As a result of conscious processing, the individuals’ altruistic behavior is influenced by the degree of depletion of self-control resources.when the individuals consume too much psychological control resources and in a state of high ego-depletion,they are more likely to make selfish behavior.(2)Self-control level as a factor of individuals stable trait,is affects the individuals altruistic behavior. The individuals of higher levels of self-control will more likely to make altruistic behavior, the individual can improve the level of self-control to prevent the reduction of good behavior.(3)Glucose as a physiological energy of self-control resources, can effectively overcome the high ego-depletion of individuals’ altruistic behavior reduction, there is no obvious effect that provide high ego-depletion of individuals with water or have no provide something.when the individuals due to self-control resources of excessive depletion and in a high depletion state, they may consider adding physiological energy(glucose)to restore self-control resources to overcome the reduction of good behavior.
