| Chinese culture even global culture,both have huge regional differences since ancient times.As a very important part of Chinese traditional culture,the landscape paintings have got an old saying that “The north landscape paintings is grand and vast,the south landscape paintings is elegant and mellow”,which means that there are big differences of the regional style and characteristics between the north and south.The change and development of landscape painting are based on all kinds of actually existing natural environment,economical development,historic opportunities and cultural accumulation.One very important factor which affects the style of landscape painting is regionalism.Just as its name implies,in different regions and different cultural backgrounds,the paintings show their own different artistic charm from the writings,subjects and aesthetic.This thesis starts from the view of regionalism to analyze the effects from the regional factors to Chinese landscape paintings’ coming into being and development.The purpose of this thesis is to make a comprehensive understanding of Chinese landscape painting’s regional characteristics and also the development of contemporary landscape paintings as well as to have a clear way and get some new inspirations for the future creation of landscape paintings.The paper which uses geography and regional culture as the breakthrough point,analysis the regional features of Chinese painting.The first chapter states academically the concept of region and the relationship between the region and traditional Chinese painting.The second chapter discusses the regional style of modern landscape painting characteristics between north and south especially.The third chapter elaborates on the impact that regional features bring on painting techniques,style and artistic conception.The fourth chapter focuses on the author’s personal opinion on the study of Chinese landscape painting’s regional characteristics and creation inspiration. |
