Arrangement And Research On Plant Characters Of NaXi Dongba Manuscripts

Naxi Dongba script is a writing symbol system that is used by religious Naxi folk for writing religious ritual.Such as,Medical books,contracts,letters songbooks,and other practical documents.So far now,Dongba script keeps rather rich early stage writing phenomena,which is still an active script in use nowadays.The development of Dongba script is naturally free without any man-made interference,and it can more clearly and objectively embody the slow development of recording language,which is of great value to study the early writing's formation and development.Based on the previous research,this dissertation makes a full use of first-hand literature materials,which is based on the classic literature of NaXi Dongba manuscripts,Collecting Plant words and characters from an annotated collection of NaXi Dongba manuscripts as research materials.Try to explore the developing traces and evolving rules from the perspective of the Plant Characters of NaXi Dongba manuscripts.This dissertation is consisted of four chapters.Chapter One is an introduction.Chapter Tow is the theoretic foundation for the following study.The focal parts are Chapter Three,Chapter Four,and Chapter Five.The last is a conclusion.Chapter One is an introduction.Firstly it presents the causes of topic selection,research purpose and significance.Secondly,comprehensive literature review on the relevant studies is given.Thirdly,it introduces this study's methods and steps.Finally,it gives an explanation of the relevant materials and quotation's formats.Chapter Two is about collation and analysis of Plant words from an annotated collection of NaXi Dongba manuscripts.Firstly,sort out and analyze the features of the phonetic of Dongba plant characters,point out the variant pronunciation of Dongba characters of plants.Secondly,it makes analysis and interpretation of the Plant Characters of Dongba scripts in the language of words formation.Finally,it starts from the writing point of view,in turns,types of Recording the Significance,Recording the Sound,Recording the Significance and Sound.Tt discusses the influence of plant words' pronunciation and Word formation to plants character.Chapter Three studies the Plant Characters' Writing-words Method.Firstly,it gives an overview of the theory of Writing-words Method and explains the validity of applying the theory to the study of Plant Characters of Dongba scripts.Secondly,with the theory of Writing-words Method as a guide,and combining with the characteristics of the Plant Characters to make a concrete analysis of the Dongba scripts.This paper Summarizes Plant Characters' written Methods,such as ideographical writing;phonetic writing,and ideographical and phonetic combination writing.On the basis of this three written Methods,then discussing the orthography theory of Plant Characters.Finally,it tries to summarize the characteristics of Plant Characters.In order to providing theoretical guidance for the study of other types of Dongba scripts.Chapter Four mainly discusses the relationship between Plant Characters of Dongba scripts.Firstly,it starts from the relationship between Plant Characters from the writing level,analysis of the different-writing and the types of different-writing in Plant Characters.Secondly,it analyzes the relationship between Plant Characters from the structural level,analysis of the different-structures Characters and the types of different-structures Plant Characters.Then,the relationship between the writing level and structural level of plant words is discussed.Finally,it analyzes the relationship between Plant Characters from the function level,analysis of the Related classes dual-purpose Characters,Similar graphetics-mixed Characters,similar phonetic-loan characters.Chapter Five mainly discusses the shapes of Plant Characters,Firstly,from the perspective of Standards character and variants character.Do research on the structure compounding on the variants of Plant characters.Secondly,from the perspective of universal graphetics and varied graphetics,mainly through the comparison with the Dongba scripts dictionary.Finally,according to the objective situation of the Plant Character in the book of classics,it offers some suggestions on the selection of plant writings for the Dongba dictionary codification.Appendix: A Table of Areal Sorting Plant Characters of Dongba scripts.
